This week I met up with my Mam in Newcastle for a girly afternoon with a difference; we did some shopping, went for some food, and gave blood! This was the third time I gave blood (if you want to read about the first time click here) and I now find it really easy and … Continue reading The Weekly Update 11: Banyan and Giving Blood
This week has been a quiet one, we've both been working and doing a few bits around the house, but after last week when we were so busy it's been quite nice to not have as much going on. Saturday was still quiet but it started with Parkrun and ended on a meal out with … Continue reading The Weekly Update 8: Parkrun and Tango Durham
On Monday we ventured into Durham for some shopping and started with breakfast at Flat White Kitchen. Set in a wonky old building on Saddler Street, Flat White Kitchen serves delicious breakfasts and lunches, and opens on an evening with a small but refined dinner menu. Kitchen is the younger, yet bigger, sister of Flat … Continue reading Breakfast at Flat White Kitchen
Considering I had a few more days off this week I didn't really do much. We stayed up watching Peaky Blinders every night, had a lie in every morning, went to the gym a lot, but on Wednesday we visited the Riverview Bakery, a little café near us that I've just recently discovered. It's at … Continue reading The Weekly Update 4: Riverview Bakery
I've got another few days off this week and I have lots of plans because, even though I loved going away last weekend, catch up on that here, it meant I couldn't get anything done at home. On the Saturday night we visited Scran, a restaurant which is part of the Yorkshire Hotel but unlike any hotel restaurant I'd visited before. I'd spied … Continue reading Scran: Harrogate Restaurant Review

I am a terribly inconsistent blogger - whether it be because of a lack of time to write, a lack of ideas, or sometimes I have posts written and never take the photos to go with them. I think my inconsistency stops … Continue reading The Weekly Update 1: Nightshifts and Noisy Builders
This week I turned 22, and before flying off to Budapest for a little break with my boyfriend, I celebrated my birthday with my family at Sweetharts in Blackhill, Consett.
I really loved how unique the place is as an alternative to your usual bars and restaurants in Newcastle. It's great as a meeting place before a night out, a date night, or an afternoon out with friends.
I love going out to eat. Probably too much. And since this Monday signals the start of Newcastle's Restaurant Week it's a brilliant excuse to go and enjoy some of the amazing restaurants Newcastle has to offer.
