A rundown of everything I’ve been enjoying over the last few weeks and some of the little things that have been getting me through lockdown.
Urban Decay Naked Honey Palette
No, I didn’t need another eyeshadow palette. Yes, I have got too many. But do I love it? Yes. I’d actually held off buying this palette for ages as I just didn’t think I needed it but recently I’ve been loving a more neutral makeup look and the Naked Honey palette is so good for that as its full of warm browns. I can’t wait to a really glam look when we’re allowed out again but for now its great for everyday makeup.
Benefit Roller Liner in Brown
I’ve had a complete revelation and realised that I love brown liquid liner so much more than black. Like I said above, I really like a neutral makeup look and find that brown liner looks so much softer and more natural. Benefit’s Roller Liner is definitely my favourite liquid liner, every time I get a perfect flick and its so easy to use.
Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops
I’ve already spoken about the Isle of Paradise Drops in my Lockdown Skincare, Tanning and Makeup Routine but I just really love them! I’ve actually had the bottle for a while but I’ve only just started using them in my everyday skincare routine by mixing them into my moisturiser every night and I love the glow they give my face.
Reusable Cotton Pads
I’ve been meaning to get some reusable cotton pads for ages and I’m so pleased that I did! I get through a lot of cotton pads so it was definitely a good choice. I ordered these ones off Amazon, they were a really good price for the amount and they come with a wash bag. I actually prefer them to normal cotton pads; they’re bigger and more textured so they’re better for removing makeup. I keep them in an old candle jar on my bathroom windowsill and hang the wash bag on the back of the bathroom door and I think they’re so handy.
I don’t know how I’ve gone so long without Glossybox but I’ve been subscribed for a few months now and I get so waiting for my little box of treats every month. Some of the highlights so far have be an Avant face exfoliator (which would cost about £90 full price!) and an MCoBeauty lipstick which is now my favourite lipstick for everyday.
City of Girls – Elizabeth Gilbert
One of the best books I’ve read in so long! I read it just after I wrote my 5 Books to be Reading Right Now post, or it definitely would’ve been included. Set in 1940’s New York, it tells the story of Vivian, sent away by her strict parents she is transported into a world of theatre and showgirls before the war changes everything. The writing is so descriptive and immersive and I think every girl would be able to relate with Vivian in some way. It was one if those meaty books that I could really get into and loved every minute of reading.
Yoga with Adriene
Lockdown has really messed up my fitness routine as I was halfway through marathon training when it was announced and my race was cancelled. However, while I haven’t been running as much I’ve started doing some at home workouts that I really love; I’ve got a short resistance band and a kettle bell that I use for strength workouts and I like to follw them with some yoga. I discovered Yoga with Adriene on YouTube and started her 30 Days of Yoga – Home series and I really enjoy it. Each session is about 20-30 minutes, they’re doable for beginners and Adriene is a fab teacher. Its so easy for me to chuck some leggings on, throw my hair up and get my workout done without having to worry about what I look like to go to the gym.
