How did the end of September come around so fast? Although a part of me is sad to see summer go, I am always ready for the cosiness of Autumn and this year I’ll be making a few small changes to welcome the new season into my home.
Candles
Changing the scent in your home is the easiest way to create a different feeling and there are so many seasonal candles about. HomeSense is always a good place to find Autumn candles but I really don’t like that pumpkin spice smell! The White Company Autumn candle has scents of pear, quince and amber which sounds delicious. It also comes as a reed diffuser but there’s nothing better than making a room glow with candles.
Textiles
Blankets, throws, and cushions and are great way of adding warmth. George Home have a great collection of throws and cushions in lots of autumnal colours which are an easy and great value way to change up your home with minimal effort. Keep a basket of spare throws on hand for nights in with friends.
Autumn Wreaths
Wreaths are definitely not just a Christmas decoration! A seasonal wreath is a lovely way to create a beautiful entrance into your home and there are so many gorgeous finds online. I love this one from GreatBritishFlorist on Etsy as the colours are a gorgeous alternative to orange, or try your local florist for a unique find.
Flowers
I always love having fresh flowers in the house and its so lovely to have seasonal arrangements. I received this gorgeous bouquet as a gift (unfortunately I don’t know where it was from) and I love how it combines sunflowers with autumn tones, perfect for the transition between seasons. Dried flowers are also a great way to add beautiful seasonal details to your home which will last longer than fresh flowers. Pampas grass is also a huge trend this year which is perfect for carrying on through autumn. The Little Deer has a fab collection of dried flowers and grasses, which you could use on their own or to create your own arrangements.
