So it’s been a while but I’m back with a new blog post reviewing one of the most exciting foundation launches this year. Waterproof, transfer-proof, longwearing, and vegan, Urban Decay’s Stay Naked claims to have it all. But, I’m not sure if it really fulfilled all my expectations.
First up: packaging. It may not be important to everyone but I love good packaging and I was a little disappointed here. For £29.50 for a 30ml bottle I would expect the packaging to be glass with a high end feel. However, the plastic bottle and lid feels so cheap with no nod to its price tag. I would say though, this is personal preference and while I like my makeup to feel luxe, the plastic bottle is definitely lighter for travelling.
Stay Naked comes in an impressive 50 shades so there’s definitely something for everyone. I would advise to get colour matched in store as the amount of shades is a bit overwhelming, I used to just grab the lightest shade in any foundation and this isn’t the case anymore!
As I have combination skin, I like a foundation that lasts all day without clinging to any dry patches. Naked Skin does this, although I do find I still get shiny in the centre of my face so I think I’d suit this foundation in the winter when my skin is a little drier.
Personally, I prefer a bit more coverage than Stay Naked gives, but if you like super natural coverage then it would be perfect, especially for every day makeup. I’m a bit underwhelmed by the foundation but I can really see it suiting anyone who loves a really natural look, I’d use it for day-to-day but switch to a full coverage foundation, maybe Urban Decay’s All Nighter, for nights out or occasions.
