Autumn Makeup: Smudgy Eyes and Warm Tones

This is the makeup look I’ve been going back to again and again this autumn. I’ve been wearing this makeup for work, days out, and special occasions all season – I think the combination of deep colours and soft, imperfect blending makes it so versatile.

Of course, because of the time of year, I’m in love with warm colours so I’ve been reaching for deep brown tones in my eyeshadow, the shades in Urban Decay’s Ultimate Basics palette have been my favourites recently. I’ve also been loving warm tones in lipsticks – MAC Honey Love and Urban Decay Stark Naked are two gorgeous warm nudes with a kind of orange tone (that sounds weird but they’re gorgeous for autumn), MAC Whirl is another one I always go for in autumn – a deep nude with a warm brown tone.img_7863I’m forgetting all about picture perfect makeup this season; perfect blending, cut creases, and contouring are out the window, replaced with smudgy eyeshadow and a sweep of bronzer. I’ve been using a brown pencil liner to add definition to eyeshadow, or on it’s own for an easy everyday look, blended slightly to keep it soft.img_7864I’ve kept my skin natural, I’ve been enjoying Too Faced Born This Way Foundation and using a big brush to sweep on some bronzer. I’ve also been using a really fine pencil and brow gel to create fluffy brows which I think really compliment the look.
