It’s currently gorgeous sunshine outside and I’m so full of hayfever I don’t even want to go out but the weather is calling for me to buy to some new beauty bits so I’ve got a few new products that I’ve been trying out. I’ve been lacking a bit of inspiration when it comes to blog posts so I thought there’s nothing wrong with a good favourites post, I do really like reading other people’s. Hopefully the weather is going to stay as nice next week as I’m spending it on holiday in Dorset – and hopefully Dorset will bring me lots of blogging inspiration and a few Instagram opportunities!
NYX Epic Ink Eyeliner
I’m really fussy about eyeliner and think it’s really important to use a good one. My beloved Urban Decay Perversion liner had finally given up the ghost so I went along to Boots pick up the NYX Epic Ink liner after seeing Jamie Genevieve use it in her tutorials. It’s a brush tip, something I’m not used to, but its really fine and flexible making it super easy to use. The liner is waterproof ad stays really well and for £9 I would definitely recommend it.
Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint
For ages I’ve been wanting something with a bit less coverage than foundation for days when my skin is looking good. The NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint is great for giving me a really natural “no makeup” look but can actually be built up when you do want a bit more coverage. It has a gorgeous matte finish which really softly blurs the skin. I love wearing it to work with my normal makeup or just on its own if I want a bit of coverage if I’m going somewhere like the gym. It’s also SPF 30 which is great for summer.
Bondi Sands Gradual Tanning Foam
I’m a really pale person and rely on fake tan, especially in the summer if I want to get my legs out without blinding anyone. While I’ll use a traditional wash-off fake tan for occasions I love a gradual tan for a lighter glow with less fuss. I love the Bondi Sands Gradual Tanning Foam for the natural glow it gives and I find it super moisturising. It only takes a couple of applications to give a nice tan and I just apply it after a shower and leave it to develop – I can get dressed soon after as it dries quickly and doesn’t transfer. I’ll definitely be using it in the run up to my holidays and taking it away with me!
Not beauty related but I’ve really gotten into podcasts recently. I work nightshifts on my own and love listening to a chatty podcast to keep me going. My favourites are George Ezra and Friends, and Jessie Ware’s Table Manners. George Ezra chats to people in the music industry, including Craig David and Elton John, about their careers and there are so many interesting stories. Even though there were some guests I hadn’t heard of it was still really interesting to get to know them. Also, George Ezra is just adorable. Jessie Ware hosts her podcasts with her mam and they have guests over for dinner and discuss food, family, life and careers. It’s often funny and I love the guests she’s chosen; if you want to feel really empowered I would definitely recommend the episodes with Annie Mac and Paloma Faith!
