Back in February I decided to get my hair chopped short and, oh my god, massive game changer. I can’t describe how happy it makes me when it takes half the time to wash and dry and I really love how it looks. Last year I had long hair that was bleached ombre but it had grown uneven and looked messy, so my hair since then has gradually gone shorter as I tried to get rid of the bleach. Getting my hair cut above my shoulders felt a bit more drastic but it has turned my boring mid-length hair into something much more interesting.
I never really like wearing my hair down and straight and much prefer it to have a bit more texture. I use my barrel wand to create loose waves that give my hair shape and volume. Sometimes, I’ll just leave my hair like this for a more sleek, dressy look.
I actually think my hair looks best when it’s a bit dirty and has some texture to it. My waves also stay in place much better when it hasn’t been washed for a day or two. Sometimes, though, I’ll want to cheat this and give my freshly washed hair some texture and hold.
The Ouai Texturizing Hair Spray is the perfect thing for this and I’ll give my hair a quick blast before scrunching it in for big, beachy waves. Usually, I’ll tie my hair half up leaving my fringe and few strands at the front; I’m a big fan of this messy, effortless look.
