My Holiday Makeup using Naked Heat

On holiday I like to keep my makeup pretty light, if I wear any at all, but for an evening out I did this look using the Naked Heat palette and I was really pleased with how it turned out. IMG_5294 (2)

After cleansing and moisturising, I used Pur Correcting Primer. This is my favourite primer at the moment as it makes my skin matte and helps my makeup to last longer without looking too dry. It was still really warm on an evening in Malta so I wanted to help my makeup last all evening. For foundation, I used Nars All Day Luminous. This is my go-to foundation when on holiday as it’s so lightweight and long lasting. I love to apply this with a wet sponge and wipe the foundation over my face to give sheer coverage and then dabbing it in the areas where I need a little more coverage. It sits very naturally on my skin and has more of a matte finish with a slight glow, which I find really flattering. I used this in the Santa Fe, which is great when I have a bit of a tan. To finish off my base I used Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer under my eyes and a bit of Mac StudioFix powder through the centre of my face.

For bronzer and highlight I used the Nars Bord de Plage palette. This comes with two bronzers; Laguna and Casino. They are pretty similar but Laguna is slightly cooler in tone so I used this to sculpt my cheekbones and Casino to warm up my cheeks and the top of my forehead. There are four highlighters in the palette; Rivage, Corniche, Crique, and Galet. I love all these highlighters as they have great payoff and the colours range from subtle, everyday tones to a pure gold which is absolutely gorgeous. I used Galet, the gold shade, to highlight my cheekbones as I felt like going all out since I was on holiday. Corniche is a beautiful peachy tone and I used this to highlight my brow bone and above my brows as this is a more natural shade.

I actually kept my eyes pretty simple but the payoff and gorgeous colours of the Naked Heat palette make any easy look seem glam. As always, I prepped my eyelids with Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original, as I find that even good eyeshadow creases on my lids easily. I then used the shade Chaser, a matte neutral, to sweep over my whole eyelid before blending He Devil, a lush orange-y red, through my crease and blending it high up on brow bone, as well as under the eye. I then took En Fuego, a deep, darker red, from my lash line and up and out towards the outside of the crease. I then used a Kiko brown pencil liner along my upper lash line, winging it out slightly, and finished with Too Faced Better Than Sex waterproof mascara. I used Benefit Brow Zings powder and Maybelline Brow Drama on my brows. Finally, I used a Bodyshop lip gloss in Apple Taffy, which is perfect nude shade for me.
